How to get started with nornor?

Hi Krik,

I’m stuck with Nornir on windows 7, I tried to troubleshoot myself for long and help up.
Would like your help here.

Attaching the error and would like to know what I’m doing wrong.

Hi,
It seems like you don’t have a “config.yaml”, this file should be in the same directory with your python script.
And accroding to your picture, you can do like this:

>>> import os
>>> os.getcwd()
'/home/eric/nornir-learning'
>>>os.listdir()
# Your config.yaml should be here, if not ,change dir like :
>>> os.chdir("/home/eric") # Here may be like "D:\\python\\***" in windows
# Then show your dir and list your files
>>> os.getcwd()
'/home/eric'
>>> os.listdir()
'config.yaml' # and so on

Another way:
May be you can open your cmd in your config.yaml directory use:
Hold shift and right mouse button, then open cmd in this directory.
I’m not true this will work ,my windows 10 can do this~
Hope I can help you~

In your InitNornir(...) you are defining a config params file named config.yaml, but when you go to instantiate the “nr” instance from it, it is not finding that file… Did you create it? See https://nornir.readthedocs.io/en/latest/tutorials/intro/initializing_nornir.html for more details on this file. FYI, it is not required, you may be able to just use InitNornir() (no params) and just use defaults for the instantiation of the nr object instance.
